This post will be short and sweet. Me and my family are staying in Newport Beach this week thanks to one of my dad's awesome clients. We get to stay in his beach house for a week rent free! Hallelujah! It has been such a blessing, and we have been having such an amazing time so far. We have spent lots of time biking, kayaking, exploring, and playing in the sand (Emory's new favorite thing!).
And Kyle Proposed to Brittsy! A sunrise proposal...Nice.. Ok but about these bagels. It was Brittany's birthday last week, and I made her these for her birthday breakfast at her request. They were actually quite easy to make, well for most people. I had great intentions of getting up early to get them done before Emory woke up. I did get up early, but so did my sweet boy, so it took me a few extra minutes and a bit more mess because he did not wake up in a great mood. The bagels. The bagels were delicious, perfectly sweet and cinnamony.
The only complaint I had was that they did not rise, creating a dense bagel, which actually was not bad, especially when toasted. I used Roostblog's recipe, and it was easy and delicious, but for some reason mine did not rise like her pictures showed. It could have been the weather, yeast, or my distraction with Emory. Either way they were delicious, and even better with the cinnamon honey butter we whipped up right before we ate them. I will be back to Phoenix on Thursday, and you will not be hearing from me until then. Enjoy, and talk to you next week!
Whole Wheat Cinnamon Honey Bagels
Due to lack of time I am just going to give you the link to her recipe. I did this exactly as is, but I added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon to the flour mix.
I love how rustic your bagels look... Even though they did not rise, it sounds like they turned out delicious!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is lovely vacation and I am glad you got to enjoy it. Loved the bagel recipe, I always thought bagels were hard to make it at home, thanks for proving me wrong!
